Josh holds both his Law BCL/JD and his Bachelor of Arts, (World Islamic and Middle East Studies (Minor in Jewish Studies), from McGill University, from where he graduated on the Dean’s Honour List, and as a recipient of the Bernard Michael Tarshis Memorial Scholarship, and the Hope Barrington Memorial Scholarship. He holds his DEC in Liberal Arts from Dawson College.
His specialties include: French, English (including essay writing), History, Geography and introductory Spanish.
Josh worked as a peer tutor at his high school, helping students with the humanities and with languages, including French. As an immigration and refugee law intern, he drafted applications for clients through the federal Humanitarian and Compassionate Grounds program.
As a Research Fellow for the Museum of Jewish Montreal in Montreal, he guided neighbourhood walking tours, led seminars and intercultural dialogue sessions with museum visitors and university students, and researched and curated new and ongoing museum projects.
As a shadow for Teenagers with Disabilities, he worked with kids on the ASD spectrum and created educational activities, including lesson plans, that were personalized to accommodate the student. He has written articles for The McGill Tribune, McGill University, and also worked as a teacher for Volunteer Solutions India in Palampur.
Josh’s warm personality, combined with his expertise and love of learning, creates learning opportunities for even the most reluctant students.
