Josh T.

Josh is currently completing his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology from Concordia University. He is hoping to go to McGill to complete his Master’s program. After graduating, with honorary distinction, from West Island College, he attended Vanier, where he graduated with a DEC in Health Sciences.

His specialities include: English, math (including Cal I & II, Linear Algebra) + science (physics, waves included, Biology) for High School and CEGEP.

Josh has worked for eight years as a tutor, both independently as well as for companies including Paper, Math Help Services, a homeschooling company in China, and for how own, private clientele. He has planned lessons for Grades 8-11, for which he had to follow the curriculum, and served as a mentor for kids needing help with specific learning obstacles including ADHD and processing issues. He has also taught writing and reading comprehension.

Over the years, he has garnered extensive pedagogical experience, having spent a great deal of time working with children and teenagers of different backgrounds. He has also worked as a counsellor and supervisor at YCC.

Josh believes in showing students how concepts relate to the real world, and he finds ways to connect to each student. His empathy, combined with his love of both teaching and learning, provide for a creative and empowering learning environment.
