Emilie H.

Emilie holds her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical from University of Guelph.

Her specialties include: all subjects at the Elementary level, and math, science + English at the High School level. She is also a graduate of the IB program, and tutors IB math + science (including Biology).

At the Academy for Mathematics & English in Guelph, Emilie guided students through educational resources that support learning, and provided assistance to those struggling with school curriculum. She created lessons to reinforce teaching fundamentals. At Oxford Learning, she taught students age 4 to 18, following an educational curriculum that supports learning, encourages independent thinking and facilitates knowledge acquisition.

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, Emilie collaborated with her supervisor to adapt courses for remote classes in Fall 2020. At the YM/YWCA, she ran the Before and After-School Childcare, where she developed and led educational activities for students in Grades 1-4 in accordance with Playing to Learn curriculum. She also facilitated friendship development and conflict resolution.

As a Community Outreach Officer for Highland, she planned and coordinated all aspects of day camps, for children ages 4 – 12, and assisted in running bi-weekly events for youth. As the Assistant Director at the Stayner Camp, she planned sports and arts activities for over 100 campers, while navigating behavioural issues.

Emilie is also licensed in First Aid & CPR Level HCP, as well as in the High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development.

Her love of teaching, combined with her expertise and creative, spunky personality, ensures a fun-yet-focus learning experience.
